    You’ll pick Starter or Pro and pay securely through Stripe.

  2. We provision your server

    Our planned setup time is normally 2–12 hours after purchase.

  3. Check your email

    When your server is ready, we’ll email your FREO Studio address and login information.

  4. Run your station

    You’ll log in, add your music, build your schedule and go on air.

What is FREO Studio?

FREO Studio is fully hosted FREO internet radio. You get your own private FREO server, and we install, secure, update and back it up. You log in and run your station.

What is the difference between FREO and FREO Studio?

FREO is source-available software you install on your own Ubuntu server, free for up to 3 stations. FREO Studio is the same software, hosted and managed by us, so there's no server to set up or maintain.

Do I get my own server?

Yes. FREO Studio is not a shared radio account. Each customer gets an isolated FREO installation running on its own private server, with its own data, media and streaming resources.

How long does setup take?

Ordering is not open yet. Once it opens, our planned setup time is normally 2–12 hours after purchase. When your server is ready, we’ll email your FREO Studio address and login information.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every account includes a freo.studio address such as yourstation.freo.studio. You can also connect a domain or subdomain you own, such as radio.yourstation.com.

Can I run multiple stations?

Yes. Starter includes up to 3 stations and Pro up to 10. Each station has its own stream, schedule and player, and you manage them all from one FREO installation.

What does “concurrent listeners” mean?

The number of people connected to your streams at the same moment, counted across all of your stations. On Starter, 100 people could be listening to one station at once, or spread across 3. The number of different people who tune in over a day or a month can be far higher.

Is streaming limited to 128 kbps?

Yes. Both plans stream MP3 at up to 128 kbps. FREO lets you choose 64, 96 or 128 kbps to suit your station and your listeners.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. FREO Studio is billed monthly with no contract, and you can cancel at any time.

Can I move from FREO Studio to self-hosted FREO later?

Yes. FREO Studio runs the same FREO software you can install yourself. Ask us for a backup of your installation and restore it on your own Ubuntu server. Self-hosted FREO is free for up to 3 stations; running more requires a FREO unlimited license.

Can I upgrade from Starter to Pro?

Yes. Contact us and we'll move your server to Pro capacity. Your stations, music and settings come with you.
